Loxleys launch the greeting card industry’s first cello bag made with home compostable film

Continuing our campaign to reduce the environmental impact of a greeting card, Loxleys have collaborated with the Clarifoil® film manufacturer – Celanese – to launch the greeting card industry’s first cello bag made with home compostable material.

Unveiling the biodegradable and home compostable solution at this year’s PG Live show, this alternative offers the greeting card industry high quality packaging that is made in the UK, and that can be safely disposed of without compromising the environment.

Partnering with Celanese, Loxleys have developed the application of the Clarifoil® film within the greeting card market. Formulated with a special grade of wood pulp, the bio-film guarantees exceptional transparency and gloss. Importantly, the main raw material is renewable and sustainably sourced from PEFC™ certified forestry. It guarantees 100% GMO free and doesn’t exhaust fossil oil resources.

The Clarifoil® film used in the pioneering application conforms to EN 13432 certifying biodegradability and industrial composting, TUV Austria OK Compost Home certified for home composting and is PLASTIC-FREE marked by A PLASTIC PLANET. Above all, it offers a unique selling point for card publishers.

The importance of working together with customers and suppliers to implement sustainable production practices and materials is a key priority for Loxleys.
