Brand new £1.5million litho press installed

Following an 8 week installation and training period, our brand new £1.5 million Komori G40 Advance litho printing press is up and running!

The new press project, which is the largest single investment in our 171 year history, has been ongoing for a 12 month period, with demonstrations and testing taking place in Komori’s Netherlands based Demonstration Centre in July last year, followed by the placement of an order in August and a 6 month build and shipment period from Komori’s Japanese factory.

Loxleys Managing Director Tony Lorriman said, “Our existing Komori litho printing press has served us exceptionally well for 25 years, so investing in this next-generation technology marks an exciting new chapter for the business. This upgrade strengthens our long-term capabilities, ensuring we continue to deliver the high levels of quality, reliability, and service that our customers expect. As every high-volume card range we produce goes through our litho printing operation, this investment gives us greater efficiency, enhanced performance, and the confidence to support our customers’ greeting card supply chain well into the future”.

Operations Director Gary Anderson, who has been instrumental in the installation, added “Print technology has significantly moved on in the 25 years since our last litho press installation so we are now bang up to date from a technology perspective which means print quality and colour consistency benefits for our customers. Whilst this investment strengthens our ability to deliver consistently high quality print it also significantly enhances our sustainability credentials with reductions in waste, energy consumption and VOC emissions which all reduce our environmental footprint”.

It has been business as usual at Loxleys during the installation with a seamless switchover from one machine to the other. You can watch the full installation here:
